“Blackie” D’Agostino was a Gambino Family associate who specialized in labor union corruption. A WWII veteran who grew up in the hardscrabble Brownsville/East New York section of Brooklyn, D’Agostino infiltrated the Laborers Union #46 and left behind a tidal wave of corruption.
One person who had a lot to say when he was called into the hearings to testify about the labor union’s corruption was a guy by the name of Frank Leto. Years later, Leto would be identified by law enforcement as being affiliated with the Colombo Family.
The funny thing is that despite many people being called in to testify about the corruption (both cohorts and victims alike,) the only one missing from the hearings was D’Agostino himself!
