Is the mafia in the porn industry? It’s probably not something you’ve pondered (or maybe you have) but back in the day (and maybe even still today) the porn industry was a highly lucrative racket for the mob.
In fact, many mobsters made their life in “the life” specializing in porn.
The Gambino Family, the Bonnano Family, the Luccheses, and the Colombos had big-name mobsters who were mafia kings in the adult entertainment industry. Even Lucky Luciano, the founder of modern organized crime, was involved in this racket.
It has been estimated that porn is a multi-billion dollar industry. Whether it’s magazines, movies, strip clubs, or prostitution, the adult entertainment industry is big business. And with the evolution of the internet, the industry has exploded to new heights, giving porn aficionados another avenue of carnal pleasures.
So, is it any surprise at all that the mafia is in the porn industry? Big money, easy money – and another way to profit from the vices of the masses. It shouldn’t surprise anyone. The mafia is, indeed, a clever bunch.
