Vincent Bivona – aka Jimmy Blink – was born in 1909 in downtown NY and grew up on Elizabeth Street in Little Italy. He was believed to have been related to Pasquale (Paddy Shacks) Bivona.
In later years, he lived on Long Island, splitting his residence and time between 18 Sheridan Place in Babylon and 216 Elizabeth Street in Little Italy.
Bivona was a little-known soldier in the old Genovese Family, primarily engaged in gambling and narcotics for which he had been arrested. He was also believed by law enforcement to be a strong-arm with arrests for possession of a gun and burglary.
He also sported arrests for grand larceny, conspiracy to sell heroin, and a parole violation. He served several short prison terms for burglary (jailed for an undetermined period) and grand larceny (confined to a reform school for an undetermined period.)
He was an associate of capodecina Peter Defeo and veteran soldier Lorenzo (Chappie) Brescio.
Vincent Bivona seems to have kept a low profile. By the mid-1970s, he seemed to have slowed down retiring from active rackets activity. No DOD available.
