The Pittson-Scranton Family, also known as the Bufalino Family, was an American Mafia Family based in Northeastern Pennsylvania, headed by Russ Bufalino. It had previously been known as the Santo Volpe Family and the Joseph Barbara Family.
The Family controlled a wide swath of territory in Pennsylvania which included Pittston, Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Wyoming, Luzerne, Allentown, Hazleton, Bethlehem, Lancaster, Easton, and other little surrounding towns and villages.
In addition, they controlled the Southern Tier of New York State including Binghamton, Endwell, Endicott, Johnson City, and Auburn, and they also operated in parts of New York City and South Florida.
