This is the sixth installment of a new Button Guys series titled “Homes & Lifestyles of the Underworld.” This time around, we focus on the Mafia Family based in the Lone Star State of Texas.
Headquartered in the City of Dallas, this particular Mafia network’s origins are believed to date back to at least the 1910s…and maybe even earlier. The clan’s founder is thought to have been Carlo Piranio, who is also recognized as the original boss of the Family. His brother, Giuseppe (Joe) Piranio, served as his trusty underboss, and after Carlo’s death, stepped up to fill the void as boss.
The Piranio brothers operated the Texas borgata quietly for approximately three decades. With the death of Joe Piranio in 1956 the Family reins passed to Giuseppe (Joe) Civello, a longtime Family soldier who was selected to be the new Representante.
