What follows below is a first-of-its-kind membership chart depicting the hoodlums and racketeers who operated under John Dioguardi’s tutelage and control for upwards of forty years.
You will notice that the vast majority of those listed were not of Italian lineage but a mix of Jewish and Irish hoods, with a healthy sprinkle of Italians thrown in for good measure.
This chart names 73 men. It includes several formally inducted — “made” — Lucchese Family soldiers, as well as a wide range of corrupt labor-union officials and other hoodlum associates of various sizes and stripes. Many of the men Dioguardi surrounded himself with and those who served directly within his crew ranged from lowbrow street goons and enforcers to sophisticated labor racketeers, powerful union officials, and college-educated stock-fraud specialists.
