Joseph Lucchese was the brother of boss Gaetano (Tommy Brown) Lucchese.
Growing up in Corona, he befriended another neighborhood kid named Joseph (Joey Narrow) Laratro, and as the years passed, they became gambling partners. Joe Brown was the “official” Capodecina, and Laratro served as the “acting” Capodecina under Joe Lucchese.
In later years, Laratro would also be elevated to “official” Capo status, and they would serve together as “Co-Captains” of the regime.
