Orlando (Bobby London) Della Paoli was a soldier in the Lucchese Family active in alcohol-tax bootlegging, narcotics, and stock and securities thefts. Orlando (Bobby London) Della Paoli -- aka Robert Della Paoli and Bobby Jordan -- was born in 1912. He was raised and operated in the Bronx at 1155 Cross Ave. and later at 3153 Waterbury Ave. Orlando (Bobby London) Della Paoli A suspected member of the Lucchese Family, Della Paoli was active in the Harlem and Bronx areas. He was identified by both the FBI and the FBN and was listed during the 1983 Senate hearings as a documented soldier in the Lucchese crew. FBI # 1082 274, NYPD # 144425 His activities included alcohol-tax bootlegging, narcotics, and stock and securities thefts. His criminal record included assault and battery, robbery (twice,) alcohol tax violations conspiracy, operating an alcohol still, and narcotics-heroin sales (twice). Della Paoli's known associates included Norman Rothman, James Palmisano, Michael Monica, Joseph (Joe Cago) Valachi, Edward (The Wop) D’Argenio, Paul (Paulie Ham) Correale, Angelo Meli, Carmine Margiasso, Richard Warme, Victor Isaza, and Robert Bolella. Most of these men were known or suspected narcotics dealers. Della Paoli had been convicted in 1954 for narcotics trafficking. In 1955, he was among five charged with federal alcohol tax violations. Basically, it was a bootleg case where they manufactured and distributed untaxed liquor to various nightclubs and restaurants. This racket ran from the late-1940s into the mid-1950s when federal U.S. Treasury agents caught them. They were all convicted after trial, In 1965, it was brought to the attention of the FBI that over $2,000,000 in stock certificates stolen in NYC were being offered and “peddled” in the Miami, Florida, area by Rothman and Palmisano. The FBI alleged that they contacted Della Paoli in NYC regarding this. They suspected that Bobby London was the conduit for “fencing” these securities. In 1978, after a three-week trial, Bobby was convicted with Isaza, Warme, and others for cocaine distribution and heroin and cocaine conspiracy. Multiple narcotics transactions were said to have taken place at three Bronx locations, one of which was the Andrea Motel, owned by Bobby’s family. It was alleged that Della Paoli was the “heroin” connection/supplier for various drug groups. Della Paoli received two years in prison and three years “special parole.” All convictions were affirmed in appeal. Orlando (Bobby London) Della Paoli was widely regarded as a respected narcotics trafficker and mob member who was said to have solid connections to mafiosi on the Lower East Side as well as the East Harlem and Bronx areas.
