One of the most respected and powerful members of the old Lucchese Family was Andimo Pappadio.
Pappadio, better known in the New York underworld as Tommy Noto, had been one of the earliest and most important members of that particular borgata.
In fact, he was one of boss Tommy Lucchese’s favorites and most trusted men since the late 1930s when he began playing a pivotal role in the Family’s multimillion-dollar garment rackets and their international heroin smuggling and distribution operations.

Pappadio’s activities on behalf of the borgata helped generate millions of dollars each year in profits for his boss, himself, and their membership.
But, in the end, none of Tommy Noto’s decades of contributions to the Family seemed to matter.
