Frank Piccolo was a caporegime who headed the Connecticut faction of the Gambino Crime Family. It is believed that Piccolo originally came “up” under the guidance and tutelage of Bronx capo Arthur (Chink) Leo, who was his direct superior.
Piccolo and his crew were involved in the gambling rackets and loansharking. He and his cousin, Guido (The Bull) Penosi were also involved in the highly-publicized extortion case regarding world-famous singers, Wayne Newton and Lola Falana.
By all accounts, he was a well-liked guy by many, but for others, not so much.
