The third installment of our Homes & Lifestyles of the Underworld: Staten Island series focuses on the Tommy Lucchese Family
Although the Tommy Lucchese Family was never a Brooklyn-based borgata, per se, with the bulk of their membership and power base always up in East Harlem, The Bronx and Queens, for many years they also maintained two large crews in Brooklyn, many of whose members later relocated over the Verrazano Bridge onto Staten Island, subsequently expanding the group’s influence to Richmond County as well.
And although their numerical count was never nearly as large as that of the Gambino and Colombo Families on Staten Island, with their membership barely reaching past the double-digits, including the borgata’s longtime consigliere as well as three Family capos, the Lucchese Family still managed to cast a relatively significant presence across the Island.
